At least until this land issue is resolved.” Macey shoved the roll of tape in her bag along with the rest of the posters she’d had picked up from the printer before heading to the diner.
Aunt Lynetta slung an arm around her shoulders. “God’s got this. And your family. Nothing that happens is gonna surprise Him.”
Macey rested her head on Aunt Lynetta’s shoulder. “I admire your faith.”
“Girl, that’s the same faith you’ve grown up with.” Aunt Lynetta clicked her tongue. “I know your family’s faced a bunch of challenges lately, but you’re strong. You guys will get through this.” She tapped Macey’s chest. “Don’t allow your feelings to rule what’s in here. God hasn’t gone anywhere. Maybe you’re the one who put the distance between you and Him.”
Leave it to her aunt to tell her like it was.
