On an icy road in the dead of night what she sees might get her killed.

Allison Moore can’t deny what she sees—a lifeless hand sticking out of a tarp in the back of a crashed pickup truck. Seconds later, she’s on the run with a murderer on her heels.

Nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted…except police sergeant Jackson Archer. But with someone set on silencing her, can Jackson keep his promise of protection?

“Why do you think they came back?”

“Someone tipped them off.” He slapped the steering wheel. “I wish I knew who the rat was.”

“Who could have done that? No one knew we were back here except the police station.”

“Do you think someone in your department is dirty?”

Just the idea of it made his insides recoil. Nothing in this world sickened a cop more than finding out one of your own was corrupt.”

“I don’t know, but I’m sure someone’s telling them where you are.”

“Who do we trust?”

“No one.”

June:  Please discuss how you juggle your career as an elementary school teacher and author. Please share any tips you may have for an aspiring writer who must work a full-time or part-time job and still try to carve out time to write.

Theresa:  Juggling is hard! I think it’s harder if we think about it too much. I also have autoimmune issues that zap my energy when I’m in a flare up, so I really try be careful so that I don’t overdo it and end up overwhelmed. I usually write on the weekends or any time I’m out of school. I can write during the week, but usually it’s only if I don’t have papers to grade or lesson plans to work on—which is 2-3 days a week! I think the biggest piece of advice I would share with aspiring authors would be to pray first. Ask God to help you find a balance in your life. God wants us to find peace and rest so that we can feel energized to do His good works. So after praying, I would say find what works for you. If a strict schedule fits your lifestyle, then use it. I’ve tried that but I’ve learned it creates more stress for me. My balance is off and that starts everything spiraling out of control. I like to set weekly goals rather than daily. If I can write a chapter a week, I feel successful. That breaks down to about 500-700 words a day. The last piece of advice is easy…just don’t give up.
