ABOUT THE BOOK:

Hate mail was one thing. This was quite another.

Radio talk show host Eve Reilly is used to backlash from her pot-stirring on-air commentary and interviews. But now it seems a disgruntled listener is resorting to more than angry words to express their displeasure. When a suspicious package arrives on her doorstep, Eve turns to law enforcement for help.

Police detective Brent Lange can't find any evidence to link the string of unsettling incidents that follows, but he's convinced they're connected. As the harassment grows more menacing, it becomes clear someone wants Eve's voice silenced--permanently.

But unless he can track down her elusive foe, the gutsy woman who is willing to take risks for what she believes--and who is swiftly winning his heart--may not survive.

MY THOUGHTS:
I previously enjoyed reading this author's contemporary romance, Pelican Point, so when this book came up for review I jumped at the chance to read it for the Revell Reads blogger program.

This book is a contemporary romance with some mystery and a bit of suspense mixed in to make this an engaging read for fans of all three genres. The faith thread is noticeable throughout the plot.

The main characters, Eve Reilly and Brent Lange, are very strong leads in this story. They are flawed individuals, both of whom acknowledge their weaknesses. They work hard to overcome their shortcomings as they aspire to be the individuals they feel God wants them to be.

Eve Reilly, a conservative radio talk show host, is determined to remain strong and independent--no matter what. When strange, threatening events begin happening regularly in her usually quiet life, Brent Lange enters the picture as a police detective who takes his job seriously.

The supporting characters are Eve's two sisters, Brent's detective partner, and Brent's best friend. I really liked the roles these four individuals played in the lives of the lead characters and in the plot of the story.

The 'red herrings' written into the story are effective in keeping the reader wondering who is behind this plan to take Eve Reilly down. By the end of the story a few clues remained unfollowed, and I had questions about some details mentioned in the story; but all in all, this was an enjoyable read by a very gifted author.

The Epilogue following the story allows readers to catch a glimpse of what happened in the lives of the lead characters after the case was solved.

Recommended for fans of Christian/clean romance, Christian/clean mystery, and Christian/clean suspense.
