Welcome to the Blog Tour & Giveaway for Simply West of Heaven by Monique Bucheger, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!
ABOUT THE BOOK
“Gross. You had a crush on Mama?” Toran, Ginnie’s twin brother, teased.
“Thanks a lot. I’d forgotten about that.” Buzz grimaced at Uncle Jake and then winked at Toran. “I got over it quick. And remember, I was only seven. But you asked her to marry you.”
“I did not ask my mom to marry me!” Toran shook his blond head. “Huh, Dad?”
When Dad coughed into his fist, Ginnie laughed out loud. “You mean it’s true? Finally, an embarrassing little kid story not about me!”
“It’s not true.” Toran waved his hand, pointing from their dad to Ginnie. “Tell them, Dad.”
Dad and Buzz exchanged shrugs and smiles. “Well, Tor. I would, but it is true.”
Toran crossed his arms, frowning. “How old was I?”
“Three. Your mama thanked you kindly for the offer, but said she couldn’t accept, because she was already married to me.” Dad grinned and squeezed his shoulder. “You didn’t talk to me for the rest of that day.”
Ginnie and Tillie giggled.
Toran shook his head. “It’s not funny.”
“Oh, yes it is!” Ginnie laughed harder and pointed her thumb at her chest. “Now you know how I feel—they’re always telling stories about me.”
“Your mama thought it was sweet.” Dad tugged one of Ginnie’s blonde braids. “And being the kind and loving sister you are, you came up with a plan to help him out.”
“What kind of plan?” Ginnie asked suspiciously.
His grin grew wider. “You asked me to marry you, so Toran could marry your mama.”
“No way!” Ginnie objected.
Tillie and Uncle Jake roared with laughter.

Sounds like a great read, thanks for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your great book and for the giveaway too.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great story. I'm already curious as to why their dad took the journals from the girls. Congrats to Monique!
ReplyDeleteI liked the excerpt and cover.
ReplyDeleteHi June,
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to pop in and say "Thanks" for hosting my book Simply West of Heaven. I hope your readers will be willing to check it out. It was a fun book to write. The West family are always good for a surprise or 3--especially in this book--it contains 4 of my best twists. :) Laugh lots. :)
What a fun excerpt! I like the dynamics between the family and it’s so sweet he asked his mom to marry him. Makes you wonder what’s in those journals.
ReplyDeleteIf you read the series--you will find out--once Dad returns the journals--they are a big part of the story. :)
DeleteThis sounds like a great read.
ReplyDeleteI'd not heard of this book so thanks for featuring on MMGM. Family stories with heart are always a winning combination. Great giveaway opportunity, too!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a very interesting book.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing! - JustRead Tours
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Monique! Sounds like a heartfelt story with some family secrets, a mystery and a good dose of humor. Enjoyed reading the excerpt and review. Love that cover.
ReplyDeleteThank you. The blonde girl lives on the actual West farm. The Brunette is her cousin in real life--and they are best friends. :)
DeleteBased on the cover image and the quote, alone, this series looks like something my daughter is going to beg me to read. Thanks for sharing, June! I'll check into it. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know what you think if you choose to read it. ;)
DeleteWhat a generous giveaway! Simply West of Heaven sounds like a wonderful book—thanks for sharing it! (P.S. I reviewed a book today, The Deep & Dark Blue by Niki Smith, where the magic is based entirely on sewing and weaving—I thought you might find that neat!)
ReplyDeleteI have been hearing about this book. I do love the cover. Thanks for your post.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me a little of Parent Trap with the matchmaking antics. I love the cute cover.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great book for some of the younger readers in my life.
