God promises to use all things for His good. For those living with chronic pain and illness, it could be hard to believe that’s true. But He sees the big picture. He offers hope for those who feel hopeless, comfort in times of trouble, courage to squash fears, and strength to take that next step.

Dear friend, I don’t know what you’re going through, and I don’t presume to know how you feel. But I do know what it’s like to live with chronic pain and illness. I know what it’s like to question God and wonder why others are healed while I’m still in pain. Yet I also know where to turn when I feel like I can’t continue and am ready to give up. I know where to find strength to take that next step, and I know where to find hope for the future. All of it can be found in one place—in one person—Jesus, the One Who is Hope!

With HOPE Amid the Pain, I share some Scripture verses, quotes, and perspectives that have helped me over the twenty-five-plus years I’ve dealt with chronic pain and illness. I pray that you can find hope and comfort in these pages when the waves of life threaten to overwhelm you.
