MY REVIEW:

When this book recently arrived at my home, I felt like I was a kid again because I was reminded of all those years ago when I got to choose a new coloring book at the grocery store! I loved to color with my crayons and colored pencils and markers, so I went through a lot of those coloring books. There is a lot more to this book than coloring pages, however.

The Table of Contents lists the 100 promises individually for quick reference. A 'Note to Parents' is a warm, welcoming review of the book's purpose and meaning which encourages parents to use the book with their child to maximize the learner's knowledge and understanding of God's promises.

Each 'Promise' begins with a title for the page. Promise 1 is 'God Keeps His Promises.' This is followed by a scripture containing the promise and a devotional written in language a child can relate to and appreciate. The facing page is a coloring page which applies to the promise. The artwork by this gifted artist is detailed and appealing.

The faith element throughout the book is strong, positive, and hopeful. This book would be an excellent family time devotional or small group devotional.

As a retired educator and literacy mentor, I was pleased with the number of literacy and spatial recognition activities the author included in this book. There are mazes, writing and drawing exercises, dot-to-dot pictures, and complete-the-picture pages. The Back Matter of the book includes several crafts for children to make that support a particular Promise devotional.

Highly-recommended for families, church libraries, small groups, and Sunday School teachers.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through JustRead Publicity Tours. All of my thoughts and opinions expressed here are solely my own.
