ABOUT THE BOOK
Title: His Small Town Dream
This city girl…
Could be his perfect match!“The only way to get over your fear is to meet it.”
He brought her to Maggie, hoping Carrie would remember the animal.
She pushed her sunglasses on top of her head as she started walking again. “I’m not afraid. I just don’t know what to expect.”
“Hold on.” Adam strode to the office and reemerged with his hands full. When he got closer, he let her take a peek.
“Baby carrots and cut-up apples?”
“Treats.”
He dropped a few carrots in her hand. “Just let the horse smell them and she’ll take it from there.”
“I don’t know.”
He held out the apple pieces for the horse. When Maggie devoured them, he turned toward Carrie. “Like I said, Maggie knows what to do.”
A bit tentatively, Carrie approached, holding out her hand. Adam stood close, hoping to give her some confidence. Maggie did the rest.
Carrie pulled her hand back. “Oh, wow, that tickles.”
“Not so bad, huh?”
She smiled at him and his chest constricted.
“Can I try it again?”
He handed her a few more carrots. Again, she approached the horse and laughed when Maggie took the snack.
“Before you know it, you’ll be a pro,” he predicted.
“I’m really not sure small-town life is for me...”

Adam Wright is a brilliant, successful financial executive who has returned to his small hometown of Golden, Georgia, to run his family's adventure business after living in New York for several years.
Carrie Mitchell is an outgoing, energetic marketing executive who moved to Golden, Georgia, to work for their Chamber of Commerce. She grew up in New York City, so the slow pace and friendly atmosphere of Golden is quite an adjustment for her. Her roommate is her college friend, Serena.
Adam and Carrie are introduced by mutual friends at a gathering. They begin meeting each morning when they are in line for coffee at their favorite shop. Engaging quiet, reserved Adam in conversation is a challenge for the extroverted, bubbly Carrie.
As time goes by their friendship grows, and they begin to communicate on a deeper level. Once they get past formalities and begin feeling more comfortable around each other, it's apparent that they could have something special together if they can just move past their core issues and the traumatic events in their pasts.
One of the themes that drew me into this story was the respect and kindness Adam shows toward Carrie and the other people in his life. He is essentially a stand-up guy who is dealing with heartache and disappointment. It turns out he has a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. He becomes Carrie's encourager, and with his support she takes risks and tries things she was previously fearful of attempting such as horseback riding.
Carrie is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to promoting the town of Golden as a vacation destination along creating new events in Golden. She is a self-proclaimed workaholic and overachiever. Personally, she is recovering from a bad situation in New York which damaged her self-esteem and positive attitude about her future.
When Adam and Carrie are ambushed by individuals from their respective pasts, they join together to heal. In the process, they find what they've been looking for all along—true, unconditional love, and a dream for a brighter tomorrow.
This is one of my favorite clean, wholesome romance reads of this year! The story is completely clean in language and content. Highly recommended!
