~  MIDDLE-GRADE VETERANS
DAY BOOK LIST ~
 ✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯
In honor of Veterans Day 2020, I am posting this list of fiction and non-fiction middle-grade books about wars and Veterans. The list is not in a ranked order, and I have included a post link to my full post about each book which was previously shared on this blog. Many of the books were shared for the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I in November, 1918.

Before I share the list, I'd like to take a moment to share my gratitude to four of my relatives who served in our US military services in days gone by:

My Grandpa B.:  World War 1 US Army Veteran

My Uncle E.:  World War II US Army Veteran

My Uncle J.:  World War II US Army Combat Veteran, served under General Patton in Europe

My Uncle A.:  World War II US Marine Corps Combat Veteran -and-  Korean War US Air Force Combat Veteran -and- Vietnam War US Air Force Master Sergeant, Weapons Instructor
{Special note:  I wrote my 'Handmade Hearts' Christian historical short story after being inspired by the story of my uncle's life when he returned to New Orleans from Guadacanal upon being wounded there in World War II.}

  2. Your list is a fantastic resource. I've only read a few of these, but have added DASH and PAPER WISHES to my future read list. I hope everyone will thank a veteran this week.

  3. Yes, these are excellent shares for Veteran's Day. I have read Dash and Winnies Great War. Heard about the Poppy Lady. I reviewed and shared several times the PB "America's White Table," by Margot Theis Raven. Every year a white table is set up in mess halls everywhere honoring the fallen. Each item on the table has meaning.
